Theatre as another storytelling machine
base on the long list that the director/storyteller could be/should with the mind of;
in the same case, the storytelling media could be multiples.
In everyday, the newspaper that we read, the pictures hang on the wall, the photograph in the album/facebook, even advertising, and we hear from the radio as well.
so again, why must we tell the story through theatre?
and this leads to what's unique about theatre.
against most of the above, the different between theatre and the other media is that it's LIVE
despite the fact that we watch more and more through digital media,
still, it has to have a living performer so in some way we feel the touch through their breathe.
and as an audience, I feel great to BE THERE, to feel the joy and to sob, IN THE CROWD.
secondly, again it based on TIME,
when there's time, there must be CHANGE, or we might say evolution (or enlightenment in religious or conventional plays)
change is something that we always forgot in our head, we thought we're constance, we thought we're always stuck in the same situation.
and theatre CHANGE TIME, it compress or prolong the time, we gone through the past and we imagine the future, by then hopefully we GET CLOSER to NOW?!
with time, theatre greedily occupy SPACE as well.
such space COLLECTED/TRANSFORM PLACES, we go beyond our city, our streets, our comfort, our discomfort. In the old days, the places are distant and separated from us; in new era, we sometimes maybe able to intervene with the performers. it gives depth and dimensions that it's never flat.
also, it's a story of MULTIPLE MINDS.
the story might come from a singular person, yet, the vision that we see is the result of COLLECTIVES.
and it somehow help us to feel beyond and live beyond.
so sometimes we want to share a story via such machine,
and sometimes maybe the story's better remain as a fiction
sometimes we might want to go and watch a story,
and sometimes we rather listen.
some people once said theatre is like a church
and at certain time church is just like a market.
one feeds our body and the other feeds our soul
good stories feed and the bad ones poison
yet we still go on to be told and to tell more...

讓我有“when you seek, you'll find"的感覺。
(Come to Your Senses: Demystifying the Mind-Body Connection) by Stanley H. Block and Carolyn Bryant Block) " 才終於意識到。
